Did you know?

The Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) logo, or "peace symbol", was created in 1958 by British artist Gerald Holtom. Drawing inspiration from the maritime semaphore signaling system, Holtom used the semaphore signals for N (nuclear) and D (disarmament) to design the now-famous symbol. Despite its roots in nuclear disarmament, the logo has evolved into a universal emblem for non-violence, anti-war initiatives and global activism.
